The Course is designed to allow the learners to explore the world of Engineering. The delivery comprises of practical workshop activities and classroom based assignments. The assessments are: practical assessments, online assessments and written. After completion the learners can progress onto a Level 3 programme
The course provides the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills for engineering technicians in the area of mechanical engineering. It also provides a progression route to higher education vocational qualifications such as a Higher National Certificate/Diploma or a Degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering.
This area covers the HNC qualification in electronics delivered by newbury College.
There are ten units, although the minimum requirement for the HNC is just 8 Most units have their own area, although some areas are devoted to two units. Each are provides learning resources, assessment material and other facilities such as a forum for on-line discussion of topics with the tutor or other learners.
The HND provides a sound understanding of all key principles including core modules in Electrical Principles, Analytical Methods, Engineering Science and a project.
