Students on Market Stall

Newbury College Art learners took part in the 'Love your Local Market' youth enterprise event in Newbury Market Place on 18 May 2013.

Tahli and Simon, from the Level 3 Sub Diploma, both sold work and were brilliant ambassadors for the College speaking to the public, Mayor, councillors and press. Tahli made and sold; hand painted T-Shirts and stones as well as finely worked fimo jewellery pieces. Simon sold handmade bead bracelets.

They also displayed the work of Jarmila (Foundation Diploma), Jannay Hernandez (Level 3 Extended Diploma) Richard Prestridge (LSA), Nicki Lister (Art Technician/H&S), Jacky Purtill and Sarah Gordon.

Newbury College were judged by the Mayor and councillors for best stall and were told we were very close to winning, they were impressed with the learners enthusiasm and enterprise.

Course Leader Sarah Gordon said "All in all we had a very good day promoting the College as a whole and the creative department, we had a lot of interest in the up and coming exhibition and thank you for your help with the promotional materials."
