This lunchtime (Thursday 26th) in Room 226, come and have a chat about the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.

What is the Duke of Edinburgh Award?

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is available to all 14-24 year olds and is the world’s leading youth achievement award. It combines four components which are:

Volunteering: assisting the local community or individuals.

  • Physical: improving in an area of sport, dance or fitness activities.

  • Skills: developing practical and social skills and personal interests such as learning to drive

  • Expedition: planning, training for and completion of an adventurous journey in the UK

    To achieve the award, the participant will work on each section for a minimum of three months.

    Why take part in D of E?

  • Gain a recognised qualification – great on a CV or UCAS application

  • Meet lots of new people from different courses

  • Learn new skills – map reading, using compasses, cooking outdoors

  • Have fun

  • Get active and be in the great outdoors
