A suspected act of vandalism on Monday 12 December 2011 has left the College Table Tennis table beyond repair.
The table which has been used every break and lunch time by many students over the past few years, will now unfortunately be scrapped because of the actions of just one or two individuals.
This year has seen an increase in the damage the equipment has had to endure, with new ‘unbreakable’ bats being thrown at the concrete floor and snapped within the first week of their purchase and the increasing problem of smoking under the canopy.
The severity of the vandalism coupled with the ongoing behaviour issues in the area mean that the £400 table will not be replaced in the near future.
We understand that this will affect a large number of our learners who made use of the facility and have always treated the College and the equipment with respect and we apologise on behalf of those who have taken this away from you.
If you have any information on who may be responsible for the damage, please contact Natalie Upton in Learner Services.
