The level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People's Services provides learners with the skills and knowledge needed to manage practice and lead others in adult health & social care provision or children and young people's services.

Minimum entry requirements state that learners must hold an appropriate level 3 qualification prior to starting this course. They must also be working in a managerial or deputy role within a care setting.

There are six pathways - Residential Services
Management
Advanced Practice

Each have units based in either adult health & social care, or children & young people's settings.

On enrolment, learners are allocated an assessor who will arrange regular 1-2-1 meetings with them. Assessment takes place within the learners work setting. The learner will produce a portfolio of evidence that will contain written work, observations carried out in the workplace by the assessor and professional discussions. This list is not exhaustive and other methods of assessment may be used.
